Description:
Flight and perched scenes of a 2 year old male #457 and an adult male #282. These birds are a critically endangered species, and part of the reintroduced population to the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge located nearby in Kern County, California. Besides being wing tagged with their identification number, they also have a GPS transmitter attached to their ID tags for tracking their movements on an hourly basis. California Condor is the largest bird in North America, and can have a wing span of up to 9 1/2 feet. March 14, 2009, Ventura County, California, USA.
