Australian Logrunner
0:30
Apparently, only Logrunners and Chowchillas are capable of feeding by sideways-scratching with their legs. I also saw Chowchillas feed in the same manner at Mt. Lewis, Atherton Tablelands (but wasn't able to video it).

Probably the biggest group of kangaroos I saw in two weeks Aus: it was so wet they could find food and water everywhere which resulted in low numbers near roads...

Forbes's Forest-Rail ? (2)

Could this be a male Forbes's Forest-Rail ? To my knowledge, only Chestnut F-R is reported from the Kumul Lodge feeder, however see this individual's clear chestnut upper back. The clear white spots on (only) the left wing are aberrant for any plumage on any Forest-Rail. Comments are welcome!

Could this be a male Forbes's Forest-Rail ? To my knowledge, only Chestnut F-R is reported from the Kumul Lodge feeder, however this individual has dark wings and lower back, but a clear chestnut upper back, as is depicted for Forbes's in "Rails" (Taylor & Van Perlo). Comments are welcome!
