Anyone visiting northern Thailand this November 2014 may want to stop into Chaing Mai, the northern capital of Thailand.

At the East Gate of the city, also known as Tha Prae Gate, over 300-400 White Wagtails (most appear to be of the Amur race) are roosting nightly (this week at least) in the heart of the tourist ghetto.

It is a real spectacle to observe, as these birds frantically buzz around searching for a small piece of branch to set upon.

Best observed at dusk from either Starbucks or McDonald's...not joking!
