| Martí Rodríguez , who is 17 years old, lives in Vic, in the northeast of Spain. The following sketchbook is from Southern Spain. "I began painting seriously, at least, two years ago, but I began doing sketchbooks in September 2000. When I go bird watching, I often do sketches, especially about birds, but, for example, I also draw mammals and flowers. I do my elaborate paintings at home, using my sketches, photographs and, sometimes, other paintings as reference. During July four young birders (Dani, Guille, Joan and myself) decided to go birding to southern Spain. We spent some days near Cadiz and then we drove to Seville and Monfrague, where we stayed two days. See the trip report for detailed information. In just a few days we saw nearly all the specialities we could see there: Rufous Bushchat, Little and White-rumped Swifts, Western Olivaceous Warbler, White-headed Duck, Red-knobbed Coot. And in Monfrague we saw Black Vulture, Black Stork, Spanish Imperial Eagle, White-rumped Swift. The first place where I sketched some birds was at Tarelo lagoon, where some White-headed Ducks were just in front of the hide. With them there were some Marbled Teals and other birds like Little and Cattle Egrets, some Squacco Herons, Little Bitterns."
