Surfbirds Share A Photo

White-backed Woodpecker , Russia, St Petersburg, 22nd Jan 15

Crappy, super zoomed, video grab from my little Nikon coolpix. Once again, this bird was less than 300m from our home. It's huge size means that Russia is probably the European stronghold of this, Europes rarest Woodpecker due to the relative abundance of suitable habitat.
