We had a great opportunity to observe one of the world’s rarest birds. Once thought to be extinct, the Bermuda Petrel or Cahow was rediscovered and brought back from the brink of extinction by the legendary David Wingate and others. Last year just over 100 pairs nested; this plus non-breeding birds represents the entire world population. Thanks to the insight and organisation of Bob Flood, we had close encounters with a number of birds on the high seas, a few miles off Bermuda. Photograph by Paul Sterry.

We have been operating since the 1980s and for decades have worked closely with the publishing industry. Collectively we have authored and illustrated more books on British natural history than any other independent photolibrary. We specialise in all aspects of British wildlife and natural history, as well as subjects and species from further afield. Our archive is continually growing and currently comprises in excess of 40,000 high quality digital images; these are suitable for use in all print and digital media. This website comprises a representative selection of the library\'s most interesting images but more are available on request.

We represent the work of some of the country\'s most talented wildlife photographers, as well as others from abroad. The Library is run by biologist, author and photographer Dr Paul Sterry, whose interest in natural history spans more than 50 years. He has written more than 50 books on British wildlife, all largely illustrated by images from the archive of Nature Photographers Ltd. Library Manager, Rob Read was appointed in 2011 to oversee the digital transformation of Nature Photographers Ltd. Rob is a professional photographer specialising in landscape photography and has had a lifelong interest in the landscapes and natural history of Britain.

Nature Photographers Ltd has connections with many large publishers and organisations and has worked with the likes of HarperCollins, AA Publishing, British Wildlife Magazine and The BTO, to name a few, for over 20 years.',
