There have been a number of claims of Saker along the east coast of the UK earlier this autumn, so I thought I would provide a screen shot of the recent wanderings of some of the satellite-tracked Sakers from Hungary and Slovakia. the image below shows the most mobile birds and note that Eonka has been up through Austria, into Germany, down through eastern France to the Rhone delta, then west to somewhere near Agen on the Garonne.

'Magdi' made the 350km crossing to Sicily from Napoli, all across the water, so a crossing of the North sea would be possible.

At the current rate at which things are panning out that won't be very long! Maybe some members of the UK4-500 Club could chip in to the project so that they can tag whole cohorts... It would represent a good return on the investment! It would also mean that no-one would get self-found Saker on a technicality! Although obviously better that than the bird never making the British List.
