What have the following species got in common?

White-tailed Eagle, Red Kite, Cirl Bunting, Corncrake, Common Crane.

Yep - they are all exciting species we all love to see. But they are also all species which have been the subject of a re-introduction programme in order to either boost the British population or re-establish a population here in Britain.

In November the BOU is running a one-day meeting on Avian Recovery Programmes which looks at the science and issues behind such re-introductions and re-establishments. For further details (including the programme and bookings) see the conference pages (http://bouconfs.blogspot.com/2011/06/next-bou-event_27.html) of the BOU website (http://www.bou.org.uk).
