Mainland Devon's first Semipalmated Sandpiper is still present for its 8th day at Dawlish Warren NNR at the mouth of the Exe Estuary.
It was found on 26th August, and has settled into a pattern of roosting on the beach at high tide (where close views can be obtained) and feeding with the Dunlin and Ringed Plover flock in an area known as The Bight, the area of mud and seaweed adjacent to the hide, during the mid -> low tide period.
Gary Thoburn has taken probably the best images yet of the bird, they can be found here (http://www.devonbirding.co.uk/latestsightings.htm).
