Hello all
I love birds but cannot tell a Golden Eagle from a Sparrow.
My wife and I were at Sidmouth on the South Devon coast today and spotted 10+ birds on the rocks picking at the crustaceans attached to the rocks, the tide was receding. These birds were about Starling size, beak dark in colour 1.5 -2 inches long, legs orange, feet not webbed, back was very dark grey almost black with some white showing through and underside was white. Couldn't find it in my book, I thought Oyster catcher but doubtful.
