Many highlights from this fabulously bio-diverse country but some of the very best include: MacGregor's Bird of Paradise (sic); Wallace's Standardwing at its original lek that the BBC and I filmed; Ivory-breasted Pitta; Rufous Woodcock on Java; a small flock of truly wild Bali Starlings; the many wonderful babblers especially all of the wren-babblers; a fantastic visit to the Tanimbar Islands which produced all but one of the endemics and near-endemics and many new additions to the island's list. |
