After instructive correspondence (thanks) I’ve removed all but this of my photos of what I believed was a Caspian Gull, it would appear from the upper–tail pattern and other pointers to be a juvenile Herring Gull in an advance state of body moult to 1st summer, perhaps this accounts for its long-legged appearance – it certainly fooled me! |
