This morning I saw my first Brimstone Butterfly of the year .
Later on in the evening I got a call telling me to get over to Exminster Marshes as there was a Male AMERICAN WIGEON in with some EURASION WIGEON & also a Male GARGANEY .
So 15 minutes later I arrived at the site & the Yankee Wigeon was showing well but the Garganey could only be seen asleep in the reeds .
Today I saw two GREY PARTRIDGE on the road going from the village of Ide towards the Haldon Forest .
In the afternoon I went for a look at Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham where I saw numerous WIGEON , 4 POCHARD , 3 PINTAIL , a Male GADWALL & half a dozen COMMON SNIPE .
This morning I was up early & off over to East Devon to look for the White Stork that was seen yesterday , I went to the Seaton Marshes first looking for it but there was no sign of it there but as luck would have it I bumped into the NIGHT HERON that was seen in the area a few days before .
I then got a call telling me that the WHITE STORK was at the other end of the marshes at the Colyford Common so a dash up there soon had me getting cracking views of it on the ground & in flight .
Then I went up the road a bit to Lower Buckland Ponds where a BARNACLE GOOSE was showing well , & to finish the morning off I had another look at the Colyford Common & saw 4 LITTLE RINGED PLOVER , a few REDWING & a SPARROWHAWK .
I receaved a call from my mate Andy today telling me that he was looking at a BOHEMIAN WAXWING in the small village of Lapford in East Devon .
So I got in my car & off I went to see if I could see it , on the way I saw a PEREGRINE FALCON sat on the steeple of St Michaels Church in Exeter , I arrived at Lapford about an hour later & Andy was still there keeping an eye on the Waxwing for me as it fed in a fir tree & we got good views of it untill it flew off to another tree , reports are that it has been there for a few days so lets hope other birders can catch up with this semi/rarity in Devon .
( A great pity that I couldn`t get any shots of it but my camera is out of action at the moment )
This morning I went for a quick look at the Ludwell Valley in Exeter in freezing cold weather for the HAWFINCH that has been seen there on & off , & I was in luck & got good views of it sat in the trees with various Finches & quite a few REED BUNTING .
