Alvecote Pools SSSI

Despite it being hotter than the surface of the sun this evening there was no sign of any basking Grass Snakes around the reserve.  You can guarantee that if I'd left my camera at home it would have been like a scene from 'Snakes On A Plane'!  As I was trying to get into the mind of a reptile I didn't notice much in the way of aviforms except three Common Terns (adult & two juveniles) around Mill Pool.

Just when you thought it was safe to build a nest!

Common Coot (& hot cattle) - Mill Pool, Alvecote Pools, Warwickshire - 25/07/2008

South View, Polesworth, Warwickshire

Around the feeders today there were two adult Goldfinch, four Bullfinch and a young male Great Spotted Woodpecker amongst the usual stuff.  Also around the house a Eurasian Jay was flushed as it fed along the roadside verge.
