John O'Groats Here We Come!

After an anxious few hours this morning news finally filtered through from 'Mr Orkney' himself, Paul Higson that the SANDHILL CRANE was still present. Just 24 hours to go and me and the rest of the lads should be watching it. The only concern however is that it is now hooked up with the incoming groups of Icelandinc Greylag Geese and Pink-footed Geese, so I am hoping it doesn't decide to continue it's migration with them.

Just the small matter now of recovering fully from my bout of 'man flu' in time for my Nottinghamshire rendezvous later tonight. Mind you if we connect I'm sure the other members of the group won't mind being infected with my germs.

Aye up folks! My name is Adam 'Archie' Archer, a birder from the West Midlands of England where the birds maybe slightly sh*te but the birders are among the best in the World. This is simply a blog about my birding experiences from my beloved Isles of Great Britain. I have been fortunate to see many great birding spectacles from Unst at the highest tip of Shetland to pelagic trips off the coast of the Isles of Scilly. I have also included sightings from around my home in North Warwickshire and my local patch Alvecote Pools a Site of Special Scientific Interest that straddles the Warwickshire & Staffordshire borders.
