Three Amigo's Birding
• Sunday, September 20, 2009 - Spoonbill at the Haven
Once again I spent the morning at Titchfield Haven assisting with the ringing. Very shortly after arrival Trevor C shouted "Spoonbill" and we watched a bird fly up the Haven towards the Posbrook Floods, a few moments later a second bird was seen circling and settling on the west side of the reserve, it was later found fron the Spurgen Hide.
The mornings ringing was excellent with good numbers of Blackcap and Chiffchaff and possibly the last few Groppers, Reed and Sedge Warblers. Personal highlights were a female Kingfisher and a Spotted Flycatcher.
Kingfisher, Titchfield Haven, 20th September 2009
