Along with the Yellow Wagtails, I also came across a few Butterflies and Dragonflies on this mornings walk. First up was a stunning Comma. I saw this Butterfly on the wing from some distance and its colours were just so vivid I had to get a shot. Thankfully it settled on a nearby Bramble allowing me close views. Whilst viewing the Comma, I looked down and saw the Southern Hawker. I imagine it had just been roosting the night away and was just about to get on the wing as the morning warmed up. Also in the same vicinity was the Speckled Wood, one of many seen on the walk. Lastly at the old lock gates area I came across the Common Darter. These will be on the wing for weeks to come yet; given the right conditions. This individual was incredibly confiding. It would have a quick dart around then land back in the same place. On a couple of occasions it landed on my arm which I had laid on the fence top.
