Spent a couple of hours at the lagoon this evening watching the high tide roost. The highlight was a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper in among the c200 Grey Plover, before walking out of sight. Also present in good numbers were Redshank and Black-tailed Godwit probably around 300 individuals of each. About 100 Dunlin, c30 Ringed Plover 6 Greenshank 8 Knot, 2 Whimbrel and a Common Sandpiper were also present. Curlew Sandpiper, Farlington Lagoon, 26 Aug 2009. (Left of centre).
