Whilst driving back from the east coast on Wednesday we were passing a fishing lake near the town of Oldmeldrum. As we drove past I saw an Osprey flying over one of the lakes. I immediately pulled in and got the camera out, and managed a few shots. The bird hovered a few times over several of the lakes but unfortunately for me did not take the plunge. I spoke to a chap who was working at the site and he said the Osprey was regular and pointed out a man made nest on a telegraph post, that they are hoping to entice the Osprey on to breed at the site. As yet the Osprey only uses the nest as a place of rest and to eat the fish it catches. Osprey, Oldmeldrum, 5 Aug 2009 Osprey, Oldmeldrum, 5 Aug 2009
