I got back to the house after my morning walk and just felt antsy. Nothing was going on at the house. We were going to Ridgeway later to play golf and were just waiting until it was time to leave, watching TV and snacking. I couldn't take it. There was too much out there to let time go by just sitting on my butt. So I went back out down the same trail, hoping to see more cool birds. I saw a couple Western Wood Pewees that seemed to be everywhere, until I looked closer and realized that they weren't all Pewees. Here are some Pewees:

Here is a Dusky Flycatcher that you can see the eyering and shortwinged and short-billed as ID points:

I saw this sparrow and wasn't sure what it was. It couldn't be a juvie Chipping Sparrow. It didn't look like my other juvie Chipper, but guess what it was! Here are pics of two distinctively different juvenile Chipping Sparrows and an Adult:

Here is a Warbling Vireo that was also seen:

Again I came across the Grouse. I think that by this time they finished all of the berries in my favorite location unbeknownst (sp) to me:

And the end of the morning was highlighted by yet another Western Tanager.

Love this one. I saw a pair, (my frst and only) on the slope of Galena Summit, north of Ketchum/Sun Valley, ID in july of 2002. No field guide needed for that male!
