BELVIDE BIRDING

• Friday, January 2, 2009 - Belvide Fair ENE 2

A Little Egret was a new arrival ranging over much of the reserve for most of the day before flying off to the south at 2.30pm. 2 Mealy Redpoll including an adult male and a 1st winter female were with 8 Lesser Redpoll. An impressive 50 Siskin were along the Gazebo bay this afternoon. 2 Water Rail were seen. The gull roost held 2 Yellow-legged Gulls including an adult and 3rd winter also the all white Black-headed Gull was present. 2 immature Peregrine were sparring over the reservoir this afternoon.
