BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, December 25, 2008 - Belvide Cloudy E 2

I managed a quick visit this morning which was still very rewarding. At least 24 Waxwing were still half a mile east of Belvide by Lea cottage. 2 Mealy Redpoll were with 10 Lesser Redpoll feeding on a silver Birch tree by the 2nd foot bridge. Both birds have a rosy flush to the breast, but be careful as at least another couple of Lesser Redpolls have this flush too. A single Siskin flew over and 2 drumming Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen in the time I was allowed.
