BELVIDE BIRDING

A 1st summer/moulting into 2nd winter Caspian Gull (photo) was in the roost this evening also an adult Yellow-legged Gull. A juvenile Turnstone was a new bird for the year also the juvenile Black-tailed Godwit was still present, 2 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpiper and a single Redshank were also present. Shoveler have increased to 115 also Gadwall are up to 140. A single Swift was seen this morning.

• Tuesday, August 28, 2007 - Late swift & Cormorant

At around 1pm there was a single swift over the South East bay area amongst the swallows and house martins and a pair of Kingfishers the only other birds of note. Unfortunatly a Cormorant had got a foot court in the scaffolding infront of the first hide and appeared to be on its last legs.
