      This species is much smaller than the Greater Ani I posted earlier. Also
      the Smooth-billed lacks the light eyes and glossy iridescence of the
      Greater Ani. Smooth-billed ranges in North America from Florida (now very
      local) through South America to northern Argentina. No subspecies are
      recognized.

      Like other species of ani, this one builds a communal nest with several
      females incubating at the same time.
