The name is pronounced ON-ee.
These anis are quite large, with a very long tail about equal to the length
of the rest of their body. Their sleek glossy plumage is very different
from the typically disheveled look of the smaller ani species. Greater Anis
have a superficial resemblance to the unrelated Great-tailed Grackle
(Quiscalus mexicanus).
