Puffbirds forage by flycatching from tall perches. They like to sit in the
open, early in the morning, often sitting in bare branches of the Cecropia
tree.
This bird was formerly placed in the genus "Bucco." Some authors (e.g.
Restall et al.) lump this bird with the Guianan Puffbird
(Notharchus macrorhynchos). Here I follow Clements and the SACC which
splits them.
