Congrats. on the new lens Peter, this looks very nice. Would like to see the basic shooting data (aperture, shutter speed, etc.), and also whether you have cropped down the original.

The blossom looks a tad sharper than the butterfly - I think I might have cropped or framed so that the butterfly was more central.

Look forward to seeing some really close-up flower shots with this lens.

      Best,

      Colin

Thank you Colin. I have been tied up for the last couple of days but have started a new site at http://peterd-2009.smugmug.com/. This site contains images at full size and contains the exif data. There is a folder showing my first attemts at Macro work which might interest you.
The butterfly image is cropped. I wanted to compose the image to provide balance and thought that it needed the full bunch of flowers and to complete it. Perhaps I should have increased the cropped area - it might be too tight. What I was interested in was the lens performance in the non-Macro mode and I have to say I was pleased.
      Cheers for now
      Peter
