Very nice shot Paul. I think that a vertical ("portrait") format would have been better since a lot of the "stuff" to the left and right detracts from the main subject. But the detail in the bird itself is great, and the "bokeh" (blurred background) is good.

Hi Paul,
I think that that is an image which anyone would be pleased with (I certainly would). I increased the colour saturation a bit after slightly altering the "shadows & highlights" (nothing "fancy", I assure you) to bring out a bit more detail in the bird's head.
I think it would be useful in future if you gave the camera/lens settings, and what processing you have done - do you shoot in RAW or JPEG?

Ok will do mate! Yes I shoot in raw & I use DPP to convert to JPEG & PSE for any alterations needed.
