      Some lovely shots of an unusual bird Colin. The wing feather pattern looks as though its quilted. I would love to see these.

      Thanks Peter,

      Oddly enough, my wife looked at these shots this morning and said exactly the same thing that the birds appeared "quilted"!

      I was disappointed that I could not closer to these birds, but they have a very wide "comfort zone". I hope to find a displaying male next spring at the same locality - in breeding plumage they are gorgeous, and so intent on their "hormone driven" display that they apparently allow people to get very close. We shall see.

      Wow, a gripping picture. I have not seen Little Bustard and am surprised they are at Cabo de São Vicente. Never knew they were there.
