My husband and I were in Makadi Bay on the Egyptian Red Sea coast in late October when we saw the white storks moving fast on the horizon. A couple of hours later when we were driving south, I spotted the lone stork on a road sign – reading the directions I assume!
Then we rounded a bend and saw the gulls. We stopped in the hopes of getting nearer the sea in an attempt to identify them but it was impossible because of a barrier of sharp rocks. Suddenly something seemed to spook the gulls and after a few seconds, the stork arrived on the scene. Once it had passed, the gulls settled down again.
