Dear Jacqueline,
the photo "Pieris_brassicae_on_Tagetes_erecta" actually depicts a male-type Catopsillia florella. The first I saw in my life also was in Egypt, near Sharm el Sheik along the Red Sea coast...
Greetings,
Igor Festari, Italy

Tad bitter sweet really, Roger. Isn't it? I mean; Cracking bird to have there. But, what hope of it finding a mate, I wonder?
Declining like a ton of bricks, aren't they?

Hi,
I wasn't originally given the location either and really struggled with this bird. My gut instinct was Western Sand but also thought the face and breast markings were more remeniscent of Little Stint.
I later discovered that the photos were taken in Alaska and I think it was in the last couple of week but I may be able to clarify that later
