Nice one, if a bit dark! Can it be lightened slightly?

This is very nice, but I would like to know what equipment was used, what the camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc) were, and what you have done in post-processing. Also, was it shot in JPEG or RAW format?

My immediate reaction is that it is too closely cropped and needs more space to the right, the direction in which the bird is looking. Also, both the image size (800 pixels max dimension works best) and file size (you should try to save at maximum JPEG quality, and NEVER use "save for web") are rather small - there is no limit on the forum (as opposed to the general Surfbirds site) so take advantage of it!!

PM me if you want more help/discussion. I can give you my email and you can send me the original file to have a look at.

Still very good, though.

Best,

Colin

Glad you like, though beautiful is hardly a discription i would normally give this giant of a creature!.

Quite common in and around light traps during May.
