| HILLSBORO - THE CURRENT BED AND BREAKFAST

Located at the midway point on the beautiful Greenbrier River Trail in Pocahontas County,West Virginia, The Current provides a relaxing retreat for weary cyclists and those looking for a quiet retreat in the mountains. For fourteen years, we have been welcoming travelers from all over the world into our comfortable turn-of-the-century farmhouse nestled in the Allegheny Mountains.
List of birds seen on September 24th 2002 at about 6 pm from the The Current deck: Warblers: Cape May, Black-Throated Green, Palm, Yellow-rumped, Magnolia, Blackpoll, Nashville, Chestnut-sided, Bay-breasted. Others spotted included Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Eastern Bluebird, Wood Duck and Cooper's Hawk. The guest who noted these birds commented that even though he was biking, not birding on this trip, he was glad to have brought his binoculars, as the time on our deck was his best birdwatching of the season! This is in addition to the usual cast of characters at the feeder. In the spring, we have seen Red-headed Woodpeckers, a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, and Golden and Bald Eagles. White-crowned Sparrows are here all winter, and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Evening Grosbeaks are often seen in winter. .
