BELIZE, CRYSTAL PARADISE

Visit Crystal Paradise

Crystal Paradise is located in the lush jungles and along side the Macal River. This is a true birder paradise, built using the ancient art of palm- thatched roofs that blend with the natural beauty of Belize. It is one of the only resorts owned and operated by Belizeans. Combine this exotic atmosphere with genuine Belizean family hospitality and the result is a rare encounter between culture and adventure.

Belize is home to over 500 species of birds. The grounds of the lodge offer amazing birding. You can see birds such as Toucans, Northern Potoos, Red-legged Honeycreepers, Blue-crowned Motmots, and various hummingbirds daily. We specialize in birding tours. We provide you with the opportunity to explore the country’s many wonders while staying in comfort that reflects Belizean culture. Located in close proximity to incredible attractions such as Mayan Ruins, caves, rivers, and waterfalls just to list a few!

DUPLOOYS JUNGLE LODGE, CAYO DISTRICT OF BELIZE

Visit Crystal Paradise

When the duPlooy family arrived some 20 years ago to start turning a cattle ranch and farm into the most jungly jungle lodge in the area, plus the 45-acre Belize Botanic Garden, they didn't realize what a truly positive environmental impact this could make.

Besides becoming a haven for birds and animals, duPlooy's has become a haven for people seeking time away from the stress of a busy life. At duPlooy's you will want to spend a lot of time wandering about the property and Belize Botanic Gardens, watching birds and stars, swimming in or floating down the Macal River, or just lying in your hammock.

The Cayo District of Belize is well known for its abundant bird life, and duPlooy's Jungle Lodge could not be better placed, with its rich mixture of habitats and equally varied avifauna.

Set in secondary growth rainforest on the edge of the Macal River, the lodge is built on the edge of a fairly steep wooded incline, and its unique canopy walk takes you straight into the canopy and amongst birds not normally encountered at ground level. Duplooys largest endeavor is supporting Belize Botanic Gardens, 45 acres of native and exotic plants, adjacent to the property.
