VANCOUVER - LIMOSA HOUSE

Visit Limosa House

Limosa House is a stunning Bed & Breakfast situated at 1,000 feet elevation amidst the natural beauty of Vancouver's north shore. Set in ½ acre of beautiful gardens with towering cedars and panoramic views of the city and Mount Baker, this magnificent home offers luxury accommodation and easy access to the wonderful attractions in Vancouver and all over British Columbia.

It's not a hotel; it's a home where you will be treated like special guests in extraordinary comfort, guaranteed to satisfy visitors who demand only the very best.

And if birds are your passion then you've come to the right place as most of Derek and Carol's spare time is involved with ornithology either birding or conducting avian research through their bird banding program at the Vancouver Avian Research Centre

With over 80 species recorded in the garden and nearly 40 species nesting here, guests can enjoy the birds from the comfort of the front deck as they flock around the feeders, water features and bird baths. During spring and summer hummingbirds are banded on the deck giving guests an opportunity to both hold and marvel at these amazing little birds. Many other species (including the Red-breasted Sapsucker) are also caught, banded and released on the property - making it a great experience for any birder.

  • Come on a guided bird watching tour

Vancouver is located on the Pacific Flyway. A land of climatic contrasts & great habitat diversity from sea level to elevations of over 10,000 feet - from jagged snow peaks to shallow wetlands - from wet coniferous forests to arid grassland - from boreal forest to coastal rain forest BC offers a feast of ornithological riches with more than 460 species recorded and over 300 breeding bird species.

Derek is an experienced tour leader, master bander and bird guide and can cater to all levels of birders. Derek & Carol lead international bird tours through their company Canbird Tours - visit their website for more information.
