Mwembe Lodge

Mwembe Lodge is located just outside Kipini, an absolutely quaint old and very characteristic fishing village on the road 80km from Lamu. Bang on the Tana River Delta, Mwembe Lodge is an eco-friendly resort. Nine tastefully furnished bungalows offering a warm family feeling overlook the Tana Estuary with truly unforgettable views.

Mwembe lodge is fully immerged in a wilderness tropical garden just on the mouth of Tana River and is the ideal base to explore the area with more than of 203 bird species recorded including such East coast specialities as: Southern Banded Snake Eagle, Malindi Pipit, Scaly Babbler, Amani Sunbird, Tana River Cisticola, Yellow Flycatcher, Clarke's Weaver, Mombasa Woodpecker and Plain-backed Sunbird. Mwembe Lodge can provide wildlife guides.

Mwembe Lodge can also organize road transfer from Nairobi, Malindi or Lamu direct to the lodge.

Halcyon Gambia offer accommodation and great birding. Tours consist of 6 full days’ birding encompassing a wide range of habitats from dry savannah to riverine forest. Holidays run from Tuesday to Tuesday and are full board.
